Ben Bellucci

Owner

Build the skills that took me to the pros!

​

Ben Bellucci played professional basketball for various teams in Europe from 2006-2008.  He was named MVP and won his first professional championship playing for Iceland in 2006.  He also played in Romania where he was an all-star and finished his last season of Pro-Basketball in Florence Italy.  He has also worked out with the Golden State Warriors.

​

Prior to his professional career, Ben was an All-American at SUNY Brockport, leading the team his senior year averaging 22.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 4.1 assists while shooting 43% from three point line, and 85% from the free throw line.  Ben was also an all-star standout at Cicero North Syracuse (CNS) and was one of the top scorers in New York State behind NBA superstar Ben Gordon.

Ben is a Certified Personal Trainer (AFPA Certified), Sports Metric Specialist (ACL Knee Prevention), and Certified Nutritionist (AFPA). Ben is also Virtus trained, CPR trained, and First Aid trained. 

Preston Shumpert

Syracuse Trainer

BBA is proud to have Preston Shumpert as their associate trainer on their team!  Preston started his career at Syracuse University as a valuable sixth man, and finished his career as one of the most prolific scorers in SU history.  Preston is a pure shooter with tremendous shooting range. 

 

He went on to play professional ball for a Turkish Club in Europe.  He received the Turkish TBL Play Off Final MVP Award in 2008-09 and was named Regular Season MVP for the Turkish TBL in 2007 and 2008. Preston also worked out with NBA team Chicago Bulls and has returned home to Syracuse with his family.

Matt Purcell

Syracuse Trainer

Matt Purcell has been with BBA from the beginning as a student and player. In college he played basketball at Keuka College and then became more involved with bba as a trainer. He is our Assistant Director of Youth Programs and a certified BBA trainer.

Matt concentrates on the technical aspects with his intense style of training. He is very detail oriented, following and guiding the athletes every step of the way. He is also the Assistant Director to our AAU BBA Nets Boys.

 

Nick Perioli

Syracuse Trainer

Nick Perioli played professional basketball from 2008 - 2017 in 5 different countries in Germany, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, and ABA in the United States.  He started his coaching career in Denmark and moved back to Syracuse to train and coach at SUNY Oswego and Liverpool High School. He is currently the head coach at Phoenix High School, and a trainer for all of our BBA programs.

Nick brings a lot of expertise to our BBA team, he has over 20 years experience as a coach and a former player and knows what an athlete needs to be the best.

Jeff Lobello

Syracuse Trainer

Jeff has been working with our Syracuse youth programs for the past couple years. He has experience playing, coaching and training. He brings diverse experience and knowledge to our team.

 

He was a three year starter for Westhill High School. a Member of the NYS championship teams in 2014 and 2015. All CNY member in 2015. He played at Cortland state for 2 seasons and was a member of the 2015 - 2016 SUNYAC championship team.

Brian Carroll

California Trainer

Brian Carroll was an All Greater Rochester (NY) high school basketball player in 2003.  He played in the Ronald McDonald game where he was recruited by SUNY Brockport to play college basketball where he was teammates with Ben Bellucci during his second year in 2004.

 

Brian went on to become the assistant coach at Tompkins Cortland Community College in 2009. During his 9 year tenure coaching college basketball, he worked for the renowned Impact Basketball in Sarasota, Florida.  Impact Basketball trains over 100 NBA and International pros.  In 2016, he founded his own skill development business 1 More Basketball in Ithaca NY.

 

He is currently working with the LA Clippers as a Youth Basketball Coach.  After reconnecting with his college friend and teammate Ben Bellucci, they decided to work together and expand BBA to California, where Brian is the head trainer.
